Hot-rolled Pipeline Steel X80 from Valin LY Steel passes Identification by CNPC
On Dec. 19, CNPC assembled an expert group to conduct identification of thousands of tons of hot-rolled pipeline steel X80 which were produced by LY Steel, and the material passed the identification, which symbolizes that products of Valin LY Steel are listed as one of CNPC’s suppliers for high-grade heavy-gauge pipeline steel.
A group of over 20 experts and scholars, which was led by LI He-lin, academician of China Engineering Academy, carefully listened to reporting on X80 trial production in Valin LY Steel, Examination and Testing by the Third Party, Mill Supervision, Experts’ Visits to Site and Users’ Application as well.
Immediately after closed-door discussion by the expert group, Mr. LI He-lin declared that, 15.3mm and 18.4mm hot-rolled X80 all passed identification in small volumes and in a single heat, also were in conformity with technical specification of CNPC and could go into production in batches and small volumes.
Pipeline steel X80 boasts of the highest strength class and extensive applications all over the world, and represents the frontier of technology for long-distance transport by pipeline. Through the identification, CNPC thinks that, hot-rolled X80 of Valin LY Steel meets technical requirements of national key petroleum and natural gas pipeline engineering project, and Valin LY Steel has the capacity to supply high-strength pipeline steels with stable quality and good services.
